The Calm After The Storm

The irony of life... I had no sooner hit "publish" for that last entry then the bell started ringing. I live across the street from a catholic church, between masses a little guy runs out and rings the call to worship with reckless abandon. It has a very nice tone, that bell, and reminded me that two wrongs don't make a right. Life is too short to waste time on the negative.

This morning the three year old had a time out for biting. When her mother said "You don't bite!", the toddler replied "Yes, I do, I bite pancakes!" Hard to argue with that kind of logic.

This three year old of your acquaintance reminds me of my seven year old. The logic is something you simply cannot debate! And yes - life is too short to waste on the negative!

I love to have the rhythms of life called out by bells and fog horns. It always makes me feel a sense of "place," and no matter where I am, it makes me feel at home.

Here's to your daughter getting the strength to say no to this bully, as that what he is. Probably deep down he is not that strong a person anyway and so takes advantage. College, and making good friends, will hopefully help to positively influence her. Younsters think we [parents] talk through our backsides anyway, its only when they get that bit older that they come up to you and say that maybe there was something in what you used to say.
Its no joke being a parent Kat, just hang on in there.

Yes, don't they gela? But since it's my grandgirl and not my daughter... I find it immensely amusing!

Hmmmm great logic but I wonder how she'd feel if someone bit back!

I love the sound of church bells too, there is bell-ringing practice in our village every Thursday evening and I love to walk by , just to listen.
