My goodness, what's up with blogger today? Slow.... This pretty picture from my friend Waldo, could be last year, could be the year before.

It's fall, that strange time in Ohio, and other places I'm sure, in which you dress for the day in multiple layers. Tank top, sweater, jacket, parka for the morning. By lunch you're down to the tank top and then you start putting it back on a piece at a time until you're eating dinner in your down filled coat. Not being a native Ohioian, I refuse to dress in layers. My twisted brain truly believes that if I just keep wearing my flip flops and sandals, summer will not leave. I'm not the only one like that in my town. Two of our three postal workers have a competition to see who wimps out and switches from shorts to pants first. I've seen one of them delivering the Christmas Cards in shorts before. But then, a day like today...

It was so cold this morning I couldn't even get the dog or cats to get up with me. They stayed curled up in the quilt against Pap's back no matter how much I poked and teased them. I had to defrost the windshield on the car before I left, dodging the kids in coats racing for the bus stop that's across from the house. It was cold enough on the day job that we turned on the furnace, first time since May, so we've had that burnt lint smell floating around. It wasn't until mid-morning, when I was huddled against the back door in a sunbeam (smoking, shhh... you didn't see me write that) that I gave up trying to hang on to summer. I heard the honking first, and then the V-of geese flying south.

I once spent winter in a cold country. I can't decide now which is more unbearable...too cold...or too hot.

Hmmm, GG - I would vote for too cold. You can always put another sweater on - but there's just so much you can take off!

Kat, tell Waldo, nice shot. I love all the subtleties in the reflection. We're still ok, here in NY. Took my sweatshirt with me today "just in case" - but didn't actually have to put it on until evening. It's getting darker, earlier. I hate when that happens :-(

Oh - and many thanks for the link! I appreciate your confidence - although knowing a REAL editor is reading my stuff is only slightly intimidating, LOL.

GG - I vote for too hot, I just don't feel like I can move when I'm cold.

Sunflower - don't be intimidated by me! I'm famous for being "the marshmellow" editor!

Limpy Lady - How nice to see you back!

Kat, I was nodding and agreeing...I'm right there with you on the layers...and on the flip flops; I want to live somewhere where I can wear them year round! but when you got to defrosting the windshield - thank God you lost me! It isn't that cold here yet - and I hope to be headed south before it happens! LOL

I prefer cooler weather. My theory is that I can pile on a lot more clothes and blankets than I can strip off.

Oh, and you might warn that "V" of geese to bypass Louisiana. My boss and his hunting buddies are already talking about them.

Didn't realise that it was that cold this early in Ohio. My ideal climate would be about 70.F and light at 6 dark at 9, with rain in the night. With the shorts, I'm sure there are conpetitions as to who can wear them the longest as I've seen guys in them in November.yjqsdkah

I'd kill for a nice cool morning, and layered clothes. I live in Florida where we have no seasons. Sure, the leaves turn colors, but, it's when it's so unbearably hot they turn brown.

On second thought, I guess we do have seasons. Early Summer. Summer. Late Summer and Next Summer.

Thanks for stoppin' by my site.

Jackie & Dave-it's not frosty every morning, just yesterday. Lucky for me the afternoons are just beautiful.

I posted the "beware of LA" sign for the geese, Velvet. I used to live in Louisiana, loved it there.

Look quick Janet, the seasons are such a mess, you may be missing the departure of your geese!

Tony if you're going to be bragging like that all the time, I might have to pull in the welcome mat! Just kidding, lucky you down there in Florida! Thanks for coming by!

Kat, I'm sure if you lived here in the Caribbean you wouldn't vote for hot! I wish I could rent the sun to other countries (that don't see it much) for a few months of the year, a few hours of the day.

I would be your best customer gela, every February I'd have my sun reservation in.
